Aaliyah was one of the hottest young artists in the game when tragedy crushed the music world. It was 15 years ago this week that we lost an amazing artist and person in a tragic airplane crash. It is at this time that we would like to remember her greatness and carry on her name.
Even though she was taken from us as the age of just 22, she had released three albums in her time. Her most popular album had to have been “Aaliyah” without a doubt. The album came out just before her death, so she never got to see how much the album was loved by her fans.
If you ask those in the music game how much of an impact Aaliyah had on the R&B and Hip-Hop game then they would tell you she had an immense impact. Her voice and combination of pop and soul made for a sound R&B had never really heard before.
Artists like Adele, Beyonce, Keyshia Cole, Kelly Rowland, Ciara, Monica, Chris Brown and J. Cole are just a few that have called her an influence on their own music.
