Remembering Aaliyah and Her Final Album

It was 15 years ago that Aaliyah released her final album, “Aaliyah.” We didn’t know it to be that at the time, but she would die in a plane crash a little over a month later. For those that don’t remember, she flew to the Bahamas to shoot the music video for “Rock the Boat” and it was on her return flight that this tragedy happened.

She was an extremely talented artist who had just released her third album when she was killed at the age of 22. “Aaliyah” would reach number one on the Billboard 200 chart after her death and is now known as one of the greatest R&B albums of the 2000s.

Other hits off this album include “We Need a Resolution” and “More Than a Woman.”
