Tom Petty is one of the most successful rockers of our time, having sold nearly 50 million albums with the Heartbreakers. Did you know that before Tom became the guy we know, he was the founder of a band called Mudcrutch – the original band Tom formed in the early 70s, before leaving to form the Heartbreakers?
In 2007 Tom invited the original members of Mudcrutch to join the Heartbreakers for an album, entitled ‘Mudcrutch.’

His dad threw him out of the house after he chose music over college (he had a part time summer job at the University of Florida, causing his dad to assume he would be headed to UF in the Fall of that year) and we suspect it was the right decision.
The Eagles Don Felder was one of the early guitar instructors for Tom. Tom has his own XM radio channel and Hollywood Walk of Fame star. Lastly, most experts estimate that Tom Petty’s net worth is a little north of $75 million dollars.
