Thomas Fekete of Surfer Blood Passes Away

Thomas Fekete helped form Surfer Blood, a Florida indie-rock band, back in 2009 and was a big part of why the band put out three albums and one EP during their time as artists. Their song, “Swim,” help put the band on the map and was a key part of pushing them to the success they had.

Unfortunately, we bring up Fekete because he finally lost his battle with cancer earlier this week. During the morning of May 31, he succumbed to a rare form of cancer. He spent a year fighting the good fight and it’s a shame to see a man and artist this great fall to cancer.

Jessica Fekete, Thomas’ wife, has been standing by his side this entire time. She helped set up a GoFundMe page to help with his medical costs and has been an inspiration for those everywhere who have had to sit by their lover’s side while they battle such a terrible thing like cancer.

Rest in peace Thomas Fekete, you will be missed.
