The BBMAs are unique in that they are decided by numbers and not votes. The winner is decided by whoever has the most airplay, downloads, and sales in the United States according to Nielsen.
Justin Timberlake has done plenty of damage at this award show, most recently winning seven awards in 2014. His album, The 20/20 Experience, took home the Billboard 200 Album award and Top R&B Album. In total, he has won 10 awards at the BBMAs.
Adele had a huge night back in 2012, which was when her album, 21, came out and dominated the air waves. She took home 12 pieces of hardware and will have eight more chances to win awards this year.
