On April 5, we’ll be able to see one of the greatest female hip hop artists of all time be honored and in a well deserving fashion. Rihanna will be receiving the Rock Star Award at this award show.
With Rihanna’s recent work on her latest album and highly successful single release “Work,” it’s no surprise that she’s being honored that night. The show is meant to show off and celebrate black females in philanthropy, music, art, and community service. With that being said, others being honored that night include, Gladys Knight, Danai Gurira from The Walking Dead, Shonda Rhimes (producer/writer), and actress Amanda Stenberg among a few others.
The actual award show will happen on April 1, but will not be shown on BET until April 5 at 8pm Eastern.
