It was five years ago Sunday that Taylor Swift released the song “Mean.” Yes, this was before Swift went full pop on us and it was a great song that she wrote herself. What’s really unique about this song is that it has a folk feel to it, but is reidiculously catchy. It is also in response to critics that don’t approve of how or what she does. “Mean” would peak at number one on Billboard’s Country Digital Songs chart and number two on their Hot Country Songs chart. It was loved by all and would even end up winning two Grammys at the 54th Grammy Awards. Those two awards were Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song.
