Justin Timberlake and Will.I.Am put together a song called “Damn Girl” back in 2006 and just recently have they been accused of copyright infringement. The lawsuit states that they copied the song “A New Day Is Here At Last” by Perry Kibble. That song came out back in 1969, which is known because of J.D. Davis’ performance of it.

The lawsuit also says that a “substantial” amount the music from Justin Timberlake and Will.I.Am’s song came from the 1969 hit song. They plaintiff is also saying that much of the music was stolen with many of the sounds being extremely important to the original song.

With Kibble passing in 1999, Janis McQuinton currently holds the copyright to the song. Janis is his sister.
