Kendrick Lamar Honored in Compton

Kendrick Lamar was honored in Compton, California over the weekend. The multi-Grammy winner was given the key to the city, quite the honor for a rapper from the city. He was born in Compton and not surprisingly does all he can to give back to the community. It certainly is no shock to us that he was honored with this by Mayor Aja Brown.

With a story like Lamar’s, you can truly inspire those from tough neighborhoods to reach for the stars and know that anything is possible. What’s obvious to us is that he understands the platform he stands on and uses it to further better his hometown and the youth of today. Bravo Kendrick and congratulations on the honor!
