It’s time for another Beatles bite!
The little known song “In Spite of All the Danger” was the first recording by the Quarrymen, the precursor to the Beatles in the late 50s, and was written by Paul and George. If you look closely on the disc you will see McCartney/Harrison. It’s the only time the two are ever been mentioned on disc in song credits. It was thought to be recorded on July 12, 1958 just a few days before Lennon’s mom passed away.
“In Spite of All the Danger” was not released until 1995, when it showed up on the Beatles’ “Anthology 1” album as a filler. “That’ll Be the Day” and “In Spite of All the Danger” were pressed on a disc right after the session for demo play, but was either stolen or forgotten until the mid-80s when one of the original studio engineers tried to sell the double sided disc on the open market, but Paul stepped in and bought it.
