Ariana DeBose to Host 2022 Tony Awards

Ariana DeBose has just been announced as this year’s host for the upcoming Tony Awards.

“I’m coming home!” the recent Oscar-winner said in a statement. “I’m so honored to celebrate 75 years of excellence in theater, but more importantly every member of this community who poured themselves into making sure the lights of Broadway have the opportunity to shine brightly once again!”

DeBose is a Tony nominee herself and has had several roles on Broadway over the years as “The Bullet” in “Hamilton,” Jane in “A Bronx Tale,” and Disco Donna in “Summer: The Donna Summer Musical,” for which she earned a nomination.

The 2022 Tony Award nominees will be announced next week.
