The 64th Annual Grammy Awards took place last night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, hosted by Trevor Noah.

Chris Stapleton, one of country music’s best, was honored with the country album of the year award for his 2020 release Starting Over. The album won over titles by Sturgill Simpson, Mickey Guyton, Brothers Osborne, and Miranda Lambert.

The singer gave his gratitude on stage, notably wishing his four-year-old twin sons a happy birthday, “I’m thinking a lot about sacrifices, ’cause I missed out on some of their birthday today.”

“Everybody in this room has made some kind of a sacrifice to be up here doing this,” he continued, “and I don’t know what it is for everybody, but I know that it hurts sometimes. But hopefully, we’re all doing it so we make the world a better place, and the people that live in it will love each other and have a good time together and come together.”

Stapleton additionally took home Grammys for Best Country Solo Performance for “You Should Probably Leave” and Best Country Song for “Cold,” which he also performed at the event.

Another notable country music win went to the Brothers Osbourne, made up of TJ and John Osbourne, for Best Country/Duo Group Performance for “Younger Me.”
