Radiohead’s Thom Yorke Releases New Solo Song “5.17”

Thom Yorke has just released a brand new solo song called “5.1,” with another single titled “That’s How Horsed Are” set to release next month. Both tracks were written for the British series Peaky Blinders.

Both Yorke and fellow Radiohead bandmate Jonny Greenwood contributed original music for the sixth and final season of the show.

“I’m over the moon about all of that,” Peaky Blinders‘ director Anthony Byrne said. “The music has always been really important historically, and I was really keen to bring a dramatic score into it.”

Yorke released his most recent solo album ANIMA in 2019 and is currently making music with a trio called the Smile consisting of himself, Greenwood, and drummer Tom Skinner. The band made their debut last Spring and has two singles, “You Will Never Work in Television Again” and “The Smoke.”
