SZA has just released a music video for her 2021 single “I Hate U,” starring Atlanta’s LaKeith Stanfield.

Released initially as a Soundcloud demo, the single started out “an experiment,” according to SZA, who had posted the track alongside two others under an anonymous account. She later confirmed that it was her “dumping random thoughts.” A few months later, the artists released an official version of “I Hate U” as it was highly requested by fans. The song became the most streamed R&B song by a female artist on Apple Music in its first week.

The video, directed by Jack Begert, follows Stanfield and SZA having a fiery argument. The video, though, ends with “Not The End,” hinting at a possible follow-up.
