Despite being first on the call sheet for her newest film Don’t Look Up, Jennifer Lawerence is getting paid 83 cents to Leonardo DiCaprio’s dollar—$25 million compared to $30 million.

In a recent interview where this fact was brought up, Lawerence responded with both disappointment and acceptance.

“Look, Leo brings in more box office than I do,” she explained. “I’m extremely fortunate and happy with my deal. But in other situations, what I have seen—and I’m sure other women in the workforce have seen as well—is that it’s extremely uncomfortable to inquire about equal pay.”

Lawerence, while not necessarily stirring the pot of the issue as a whole, still tells how the industry leaves many actresses hanging, saying: “If you do question something that appears unequal, you’re told it’s not gender disparity but they can’t tell you what exactly it is.”
