He’s ‘The Boss’ Bruce Springsteen, and for nearly 40 years Bruce has been rocking the free world with over 100 million in record sales and countless tours. In the recent Record Store Day celebration, his ‘Greatest Hits’ was the single most purchased offering. It’s hard to pick one album that stands out above the rest, but here are our top five albums.

“Born to Run” sold nearly seven million copies and put Bruce on the map. Progressive rock stations played all the tracks, and “Born to Run” and “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out” were smash singles. Simply put this album took Bruce to the stadium concerts and iconic stardom.

“Greetings from Asbury Park” is the debut album of this group of unknown artists from New Jersey, and offered up “Blinded by the Light,” “Spirit in the Night,” and “For You” as the album that gave birth to Bruce and the big man Clarence Clemmons.

The world of Rock and Roll changed forever with the release of “Born in the USA,” in 1984. The album produced seven Top 10 singles and fueled ticket sales to record levels.

“The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle” released in 1973 got Bruce the cover of Time magazine, giving the world the classic song “Rosalita (Come Out Tonight).”
