Sly and the Family Sone’s singles “Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin) / Everybody Is a Star” was the benchmark of fun and rock crossing paths.

Diversity was alive and well in 1970 with soulful artists like Freda Payne, Martha Reeves, Stevie Wonder, and Edwin Star all on the charts.

The two biggest hit singles were the Beatles’ “The Long and Winding Road” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water” by Simon and Garfunkel.
